About me

Hi and welcome, I'm Vanja.

I’m a certified EMDR therapist and body psychotherapist under supervision, as well as a mindfulness and yoga teacher.

In my psychotherapy practice, I work individually with clients — in person in Novi Sad (Serbia) or online. I typically work with adults who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, or the emotional impact of past traumatic events.

I specialize in trauma-focused therapy, integrating EMDR, body psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing and other mind-body approaches to help clients process and release what’s been stored in both mind and body.

Many of my clients come to me because they feel stuck, disconnected from themselves, caught in cycles of overthinking, or unsure how to respond to what they truly feel. These patterns often appear as anxiety, panic, anger, withdrawal, or even physical symptoms of stress.

I believe that for true healing and lasting change we need to address the whole person — mind, body, emotions, and nervous system — because these parts are deeply connected and constantly influence each other.
When one of them is out of balance, it affects all the others — and that’s why talking alone often isn’t enough.
In my work, this means combining in-depth conversation with body-based techniques and tools for nervous system regulation, so we can work on every level your experience lives in.

If this approach resonates with you, I’d be glad to support you on your journey. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule an initial session so we can explore working together.

Professional experience and training

In my psychotherapy practice, I draw from over a decade of personal and professional experience in mind–body therapies and trauma healing, combining evidence-based approaches with an attuned, compassionate, and intuitive way of working.

My formal training includes:

I am a member of:

  • Crisis team EMDR Serbia, supporting organized crisis interventions

  • Association of EMDR Psychotherapists of Serbia

  • Serbian Association for Body Psychotherapy (SABPT)

  • Serbian Council for Body Psychotherapy (SCBP)

Supportive Mind-Body practices

While psychotherapy is the main focus of my work, I also have a background in yoga, mindfulness, meditation and energy work. As a certified yoga teacher, mindfulness instructor, and Reiki master, I occasionally offer group workshops in therapeutic yoga and mindfulness, as well as one-on-one somatic-energy healing sessions.

I see these practices as complementary to my psychotherapy work — supporting mental health by engaging the body, breath, and awareness. They offer additional tools for regulation, presence, and connection with oneself, which can complement and deepen therapeutic work.

By offering group formats, I can share these practices with a wider audience — giving more people access to simple, effective ways of supporting their emotional and physical well-being.

Some of my training in this area includes:

  • Certified Yoga Teacher Training

  • Yoga & Mindfulness for Children

  • MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) training

  • Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness training

  • Numerous meditation courses and retreats (Vipassana and other styles)

  • Reiki Master Teacher Level
